The German Club is composed of the members of the two German classes, sixteen in number. The purpose of the organization is to provide a broader activity than the classroom can afford, and to stimulate a wider interest by bringing the classes together socially. Individual work along the line of talks, stories, readings, recitations, etc., is prepared, and presented in the form of a program at the regular monthly meeting. Our aim is expressed in the words of Felix Dahn:

"Eure Mädchen sollen und Knaben
Als kostlichste von allen Gaben,
Das Kleinod deutscher Sprache haben."
